Expat VS Digital Nomad - There's a difference!
Expat VS Digital Nomad, a discussion I often find myself a part of with other expats as well as future expats wanting to move abroad or even specifically move to Italy, move to Portugal, move to Japan or wherever their hearts call to. When researching information online, unfortunately, a lot of the information and terminology for expats living abroad and digital nomads seem to get confused and misused. I would argue that the digital nomad life is not the same as expat life and that the two are not the same, and there's no problem with that. I just personally think it's important to recognize simply for the sake of clarity in these conversations about these lifestyles... especially for the benefit of people who are just looking into these subjects for the first time and learning about what it is to live abroad and enjoy a life abroad. Expat life and the Digital Nomad life broth come with their challenges and benefits, but which one is right for you will of course depend on a number of factors. I can say that I've enjoyed my dual-citizen expat life in Italy and the other countries I've lived in, even with all of the challenges I've faced along the way living abroad as an American.
